Free reading on eating disorders, from your library.
One of the most useful things you can do when someone you love is diagnosed with an eating disorder is to learn about the illness. The more you understand it, the easier it becomes to cope, to communicate, and to be the support they need. Together with Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries, we have built a collection you can borrow for free, anywhere in the province.
Chosen for people living with an eating disorder.
Around 25 titles, selected with the library: recovery and lived experience, guidance for parents and partners supporting a loved one, and the psychology behind eating disorders. Most can be borrowed straight away as an eBook or audiobook, and every title is also available in print at your local branch.
Two things to set up first.
If you have never borrowed from the library before, this takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
Print books and brochures.
We keep a library of books and brochures at our office in St. John's. If you would rather hold a book, or you are not sure where to start, get in touch and we will help you find something that fits your situation.
Reading is one part of it.
Information helps, but you do not have to work through this on your own. There is free support across the province.
